61.   THE BEATLES WHITE ALBUM - APPLE RECORDS # SWBO-101 Jacksonville

RARE COMPRESSED VERSION w/'A11' Stampers

Offered is The BEATLES white album which was released in November of 1968.  This is from the Jacksonville IL factory.   Disk 2 was mfg using the A11 stampers for both sides!   These were supposedly destroyed before pressing the LP began.   George Harrison himself had to remove the compression that Capitol's engineers added to all the songs on the Beatles white album.  Some of the compressed stampers ended up being used by the LA Capitol Factory (A1 stampers), the Scranton Capitol Factory(A28, B28, B29 stampers) and the Jacksonville Capitol Factory (A9, A11, B10, B15 stampers).  There's no way of telling if a compressed white album disk was included in your white album except for looking in the deadwax for yourself.   Many times, only 1 of the 2 records inside the LP were the compressed version.   In any case, they are very rare to find.   This album only had disk2 made from the compressed version.  Disk1 was made using a normal stamper.
